iPhone, iPad, and iPod: understanding capacity

You can sync and download many types of content on your device. Some types of content (such as music and videos) typically take more space than others (such as notes and eBooks). When your device runs out of space, you will no longer be able to install a new app, download eBooks, take more photos, or upgrade to a new iOS. If your device is near its storage capacity, you can remove any rarely used content to make space for more content.

  1. On your device Home screen, tap Settings then tap General.
  2. On the General settings menu, tap Storage & iCloud Usage.
  3. On the Storage & iCloud Usage menu, tap Manage Storage to view the amount of space each app takes on your device.
  4. On the Storage menu, tap an App for more detailed information about its usage.

‚ÄčDepending on the App, you may also be able to delete some of the content, or delete the app and its content.
